Young People's Promise

The Connexions Promise exists to make sure young people feel safe, comfortable and secure when dealing with Connexions. It ensures young people understand their opinions will be listened to at all times.

The promise states:

  • We will respect everyone's opinion
    • Everyone's opinion matters and will be taken into account
    • Young people will be able to ask us if there is something they don't understand
  • We will listen to and act on young people's feedback
    • If a young person wishes to make a complaint or compliment about the service, we will tell them how to do so
    • We will listen to feedback and tell young people how and when we will act on it
  • We will provide young people with the information they require
    • Connexions staff will be available in schools, colleges, work places and through other services for young people
    • We will help young people with any decisions they need to make about their future
  • We will give young people support and guidance
    • We will offer young people support in approaching other organisations and services
    • We will provide help with problems or just someone to talk to who will listen
    • Our support will always be open, friendly, non-judgemental and reliable
  • We will look after young people's safety
    • Young people will be safe from harm when working with Connexions staff
  • We will keep discussions with young people private as far as the law allows
    • If young people have asked that the information they give us remains confidential, we will respect their request unless we have told them that the law says we are unable to do so
  • We will involve young people in our service
    • We will offer all young people aged 13-19 the opportunity to be involved in the planning, running and evaluation of the Connexions service.
